This village was built the same way all towns are constructed: one house at a time. The first house was drawn in January 2021, and I filled the page in November 2022. Most homes are small enough to fit on a dime and were created with focus and care.
The Tiny Village residents live harmoniously with the trees; most homes are treehouses with ladders, stairs, and swings. There's even a business district with communal areas and rope bridges to make errands and shopping easy. The residents also appreciate a diverse range of architecture! House styles include Mid-century modern, Victorian, Mediterranean, Gothic revival, Southwestern, Contemporary, Queen Anne, Second Empire, Tudor, American Craftsman, Split level, Bungalow, and Prairie Style, with Frank Lloyd Wright's Warren Hickox House joining the group.
The FLW house I've drawn exists in real life and is located in Kankakee, IL, next door to Wright's more famous and spacious B. Harley Bradley House. The Bradley House is open for tours, while the Hickox house is a private residence. The Tiny Village and the Hickox House evoke curiosity about what could be hidden in unseen spaces, both domestic and wild, in the treetops or the attic.
What do you think is happening in this village? Which house would you most want to see listed on Air B&B? Which shops and services are in the buildings of the business district?
Let your imagination climb around and find a home among the branches; this is your village as much as mine. Enjoy.
